Good morning everyone. I hope you have a good time with our online learning today. Tomorrow is another technology free day so just check here for some ideas of activities to keep you busy.
Unfortunately our morning zoom session will be cancelled today due to staff training. Today’s zoom session will be at 1.30pm and I will read a story during this session.
- Share stories with your children daily, they are hugely important in their learning.
- Please sing or say rhymes with your child. If you do not know the tune, don’t worry. Your child might know it, or you can make up a tune or you could always say it rather than sing it. See Day 1 for the words to some of our popular rhymes.
- Please find opportunities for counting daily. This might be when playing with toys, having tea, or walking up the stairs.
Pre-nursery
Going on a Bear Hunt – watch the video below and enjoy the story. Perhaps you can act out the story afterwards.
Counting with Rabbit – watch the video below of rabbit counting his movements. See if your child can join in with rabbit’s movements. Think of new ways your child can move and count the movements.
Nursery
Phonics – Body Percussion. Use instruments if you have them, if not use things that make a sound e.g. pan and spoon, bottle with rice in etc. Play the instrument and ask the children to move in a certain way such as marching, jumping, clapping etc. Play the instrument quickly or slowly and describe the action e.g. slow, slower, fast, faster. Allow your child to play the instrument and choose ways to get you to move.
