Learning and caring together

Year 2

Welcome everyone to Year 2! My name is Mrs Farrier, I am the class teacher.

Year 2 is an extremely exciting year and I can assure you, your child is going to have lots of fun whilst working hard and making excellent progress. I am so excited to take your children on a learning journey throughout the year and work alongside fabulous parents. We aim to provide the balance of a challenging and stimulating curriculum which enthuses the children to become creative, hardworking, independent learners. ALL children are challenged in their lessons and children regularly have the opportunity to review their own learning. We believe that it is important for children to enjoy school and enjoy learning and this will be something we aim to achieve. In Year 2, children still have the opportunity to take charge of their own learning and create their own learning activities. Our Learning Environment is very important to us in Year 2 and it promotes happiness and hard workers.

‘A great classroom environment comes from the heart. It’s built on love, laughter, achievement and a feeling that everyone belongs.’

Year 2 Long Term Plan

Throughout the year, we teach a variety of stimulating and exciting topics to engage the children in their learning. We aim for all pupils to develop a lifelong love of learning and develop the basic skills and knowledge to prepare our children for Year 3.
